Solid Batting Will be Important in Helping Scorpions win Super50 Title

This competition is normally won by the teams that achieve impressive batting numbers, the [entire] 50 overs

Andrew Richardson, the Head Coach of the Jamaica Scorpions, has said that his team will be relying on solid batting to push for the regional Super50 title.
He revealed that his batters are currently enjoying good form. He is happy that his team has many all-round cricketers and a lot of other quality players. He made these revelations when his team revealed their squad for the tournament.
“I’ve been trying my best to improve our batting because this competition is normally won by the teams that achieve impressive batting numbers, the [entire] 50 overs. I am sure that our bowlers will do well.” Richardson’s stint as Scorpion’s head coach started after the team ended its relationship with Andre Coley in August.
There will be eight teams in this season’s Super50 competition — the traditional six franchises along with the West Indies Academy and Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC).
The Super50 will begin in Saturday when West Indies Academy and Leeward Islands Hurricanes face off with a Zone B contest. The game will be held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda.
On November 1, The Scorpions will open their account against the Hurricanes. Zone B will be compromised of Barbados Pride.
Zone A is made of Guyana Harpy Eagles, Tobago Red Force, CCC and Windward Islands Volcanoes.
The games are set to be held in Antigua’s Coolidge Cricket Ground and Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Also, Trinidad and Tobago’s Queens Park Oval and Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
The Scorpions squad is made up of – Alwyn Williams, Andre McCarthy, Aldaine Thomas, Peat Salmon, Marquino Mindley, Nicholson Gordon, Jermaine Blackwood (captain), Jeavor Royal, Dennis Bulli, Jamie Merchant, Chadwick Walton, Nkrumah Bonner, Sheldon Cottrell, Odean Smith, Brandon King and Rovman Powell.
