Houston Dash have moved to sign Reggae Girl Havana Solaun. The National Women’s Soccer League team are acquiring the midfielder despite the fact that it’s a World Cup year.
The club has offered the Reggae Girl a two-year deal in the hope that the player can help them improve their midfield. This move comes after the player spent a short period as a free agent.
The Reggae Girl has 14 starts in 20 appearances during her time in North Carolina Courage. She has been playing for this club over the last two years.
Solaun started her career brightly when she was drafted in 15th position in the NWSL College Draft. She has had stints in other NWSL clubs such as the Seattle Reign and the Washington Spirit.
Solaun revealed that she accepted the Houston Dash move in order to challenge herself. She hopes that this move will help grow as a footballer.
According to Alex Singer; the general manager of Houston Dash, they chose Solaun because of her technical and leadership skills. Singer describes her as a box to box midfielder who can create opportunities for attacking players.
