Leaford Grant, the head coach of Kingston College, has expressed that he is excited of the idea of tight title race against Calabar High. the two rivals are currently competing in the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships.

KC beat Calabar after securing 427 points against their rivals 415 points. This performance allowed KC to go home with the Corporate Area crown. They secured their victory with a win in Class I boys 4×400 metres.
Grant was full of praise for his competitor Corey Bennett. He said that he expects improved performances in the Champs when the competition begins on March 28. Bennett’s team is likely to deliver a title challenge in the upcoming Champs.
Over the years, the two teams have had bitter rivalry. Calabar has enjoyed a long period of dominance in high school athletics.
Grant has identified Jamaica College and Calabar as the main competitors for his team.
Grant said that he is looking forward to facing improved competition. He believes that stiff competition will bring the best out of his athletes. He revealed that he will not allow his athletes to under-estimate their Red Hills Road rivals.
