The first exhibition is expected to run between January 6 to 7th
The best players in the schoolboy football season are set to showcase their skills in front of international coaches. The exhibition events are expected to happen in January.
These opportunities will only be available to players with the necessary academic qualifications. The Jamaican youngsters will be auditioning in front of collegiate coaches who are based in the United States of America (USA). The first exhibition is expected to run between January 6 to 7th.
There will be a match that features Scholastic Rural versus All Scholastic Urban and All daCosta versus the All Manning.
The youngsters will then be assembled in an All Schools team that will compete in the US for another match. This will be the last match of the series.
Keith Wellington; the head of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association, revealed that they have invited 30 coaches to scout Jamaican players.
Over the years, the All Manning versus All daCosta match has been the highlight of the schoolboy season. The competition offers the best players from each competition an opportunity to take the center stage.
The overseas college coaches will also scout players during the All Scholastic Rural versus the All Scholastic Urban match. Wellington confirmed that approximately 80 players will get a chance to showcase their skills in front of the scouts. The All Schools team is expected to travel to Florida in the upcoming weekend.
Wellington said that ISSA created this program in order to help players who want to pursue a sports career and academics.
