Jamaica To Compete Against USA In Concacaf Under-20 Championship

The competition can be used as a pathway to qualify for the Under 20 World Cup. It is expected to run from July 19 to August 4 2024

The Concacaf Under20 Championship has placed Jamaica in Group A. There are in the same group as Cuba, Costa Rica and USA. The tournament will feature 12 of the best teams in the Concacaf region.
The competition will be used as a pathway to qualify for the Under 20 World Cup. The tournament is expected run from July 19 to August 4. It will be happening in Celaya and Irapuato, Mexico.
The participants learnt about the groups in a live draw that was conducted recently.
The quarterfinals will feature teams that finish in the two best third places and the “top-two” of every group.
The competition will feature eight teams in the knockout stage. The quarterfinals will run between July 30 and 31. This will be followed by the semifinals on August 2. The champion will be crowned when the final is played on Sunday, August 4.
The teams can secure a spot in next year’s FIFA Under- 20 World Cup by finishing among the four semifinalists.
Jamaica got into the Championship after securing a 3-0-0 record in St Kitts and Nevis. This qualification happened in February. The Young Boyz scored six goals to dominate the group stage. Their defence only conceded two goals in the three games.
Group A: Jamaica, USA, Cuba and Costa Rica.
Group B: Canada, Dominican Republic, Honduras and El Salvador.
Group C: Haiti, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico.
