JAMAICA Police Co-operative Credit Union is organizing this year’s Benevolent 5K Run/Walk. This is the foundation’s second annual event. JPCCU is a non-profit organization that is known for impacting Jamaicans in a positive way.
The occasion is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024, kicking off at 6:30 in the morning. The event is expected to follow a theme of ‘Stride with Mind, Body and Heart: Live with Purpose.’ It will happen at the Police Officers’ Club on Hope Road, Kingston.
The foundation has earned a lot of praise and accolades because of supporting JPCCU members and remaining committed to it’s principles. The organization has provided its members with educational scholarships/bursaries as well as finances for medical expenses.
The foundation is hoping to promote philanthropy, wellness and community solidarity with the Benevolent 5K Run/Walk.
“This gathering isn’t just about running; it’s a celebration of camaraderie and solidarity in our community,” remarked Dormah Harrison, the chairman of JPCCU Foundation. He emphasized that participants are coming together to showcase their dedication to healthier living while also supporting a worthy initiative. Harrison expressed the team’s enthusiasm in organizing the second JPCCU Foundation Benevolent 5K Run/Walk.
Harrison insisted that this event gives an platform for people to assemble for a common goal. The goal is to provide support to Jamaicans who are suffering with unexpected hardships and economic challenges. He invited all Jamaicans for a day of philanthropy, fun and fitness.
You can register for the event by paying a fee of $2000. Additionally, every individual can pay a discounted rate of $1500 if you appear in teams of 20 or more persons. This is meant to enable more people to contribute to the cause and encouraging group involvement.
