Brown will be glad to know that she can participate in the EUFA Champions league in the upcoming season
Jody Brown; a senior Reggae Girlz player, has signed professional contract with Portuguese club Benfica. She has inked a three year deal that will see her for the club until 2027. This will be her first professional contract.
Brown emerged as a standout player when he played for Florida State University. She said that she is excited to embark on this new face of her career. She was speaking through her Instagram page.
“Since I began my career, I have always dreamed of playing professional football at the highest level. My aim is to win many trophies with Benfica,” Brown posted on her social media account.
The Jamaican star said that she is pleased to sign for a club that is as big as Benfica. She thanked Hue Menzies, FSU, Montverde Academy and her family for their roles in her success.
Benfica is the biggest club in Portugal. Over the years, both the men’s and women’s teams have been dominating the Portuguese first division leagues. The women’s team won the league with 56 points, two points ahead of Sporting CP.
The Benfica women’s team has been participating in the EUFA Champions league over the last few years. Brown will be glad to know that she can participate in this prestigious competition in the upcoming season. She can even earn a move to a bigger club if she shines in this competition.
The 22-year-old winger has worn the national colors at every level (under15 to the senior team). She has even represented the Reggae Girlz in two World Cups. She has accumulated a total of 12 goals for the senior team.
In the last season, she played a major role when Florida State University retained their Atlantic Coast Conference title. She also helped her team win the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Championship.
