Jamaica Paralympic Association Secures Uber Sponsorship

The company has taken this initiative in order to promote inclusion for disabled athletes

The Jamaica Paralympic Association has received a sponsorship of US$12,500 from Uber. The taxi company made this announcement during a recent ceremony. The company is hoping to give back to society by improving the mobility and accessibility of individuals with disabilities. This initiative is part of Uber’s global social impact programme.
The Uber officials said that they were pleased to facilitate movement for all people. They insisted that Uber was proud to sponsor para-athletes from the Carribean nation. The company wants to reward the athletes for their talent and determination. The company has taken this initiative in order to promote inclusion and accessibility.
The officials said that they want the para-athletes to move with freedom and confidence despite their disabilities. Uber will continue to celebrate and fund the careers of these athletes.
JPA president Christopher Samuda said ”We appreciate the support that we’ve been receiving from Uber.” He promised that they will use the money to ensure the athletes can compete at the highest level. Samuda believes that disabled people have a right to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
This sponsorship is part of Uber’s global initiative that will feature countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, France and Ireland. Uber’s global support showcases a dedication towards promoting inclusivity, empowering the disabled community, and enhancing mobility.
Judo Paralympian Theador Subba said that he is happy that Uber had decided to help them. He revealed that it will be easier to concentrate on their craft because they won’t be distracted by money problems. “We are inspired to move forward because Uber has shown commitment to our cause,” said Subba.
