Trinidad and Tobago is expected to provide more than $1 million to athletes, community groups and sporting organizations. The government said that this money will be in the form of grants.
This revelation was made during a ceremony in the head office of the Ministry of Sport and Community Development.
The ministry’s Community Action for Revival and Empowerment grant and Sport Grant for Organizations and Individuals has delivered money to 25 recipients.
The total funding is expected to amount to $1,179,930.00. It will be beneficial to 14 community groups, one athlete and 10 national sporting organizations.
The government of Trinidad and Tobago decided to disburse these grants in order to demonstrate their commitment towards developing athletes. The government wants communities to develop in a sustainable manner. They also want athletes to be excellent on all levels.
