Lowe has a record of two goals in seven game for the Reggae Boyz
Coach Steve MCclaren was forced to call up Jamal Lowe into his latest Reggae Boyz squad after Leon Bailey suffered from an injury. The team will be participating in Nations League matches in the ongoing international break.
Lowe is an attacker who plays his football in England’s Sheffield Wednesday FC.
Bailey was part of the original squad that was named last week. The Aston Villa winger was hoping to make a comeback after missing several Reggae Boyz matches. Bailey missed the Copa America tournament because he had decided to take a break from the national team. This break came after he clashed with Jamaica Football Federation officials. He was also serving a suspension ban after he was suspended by the previous coach Heimir Hallgrimsson.
The injury happened while competing against Leicester FC in a league match. The star injured himself while trying to block a pass. It’s possible that he might have sprained a muscle. Unai Emery, the Aston Villa coach, was forced to bring in Jacob Ramsey to replace Bailey although it was early in the game.
Jamaica’s opening match is expected to be against Cuba on Friday, September 6.
Lowe’s last game for Jamaica was in the Nations League semifinals when the Boyz lost 3-1 to the USA. This game happened in March.
Lowe has a record of two goals in seven game for the Reggae Boyz. He will be working together with other attackers like Kaheim Dixon, Demarai Gray, Michail Antonio, Norman Campbell and Shamar Nicholson.
The new names include Norman Campbell and Adrian Reid Jr while Jon Russell and Amari’i Bell are making a comeback into the squad.
