Reggae Boyz Frustrated By Cuba In A Game That Ended As A 0-0 Draw

The Jamaicans struggled to score although the Cubans had been reduced to 10 men Nations League opener

Kingston, Jamaica — The Reggae Boyz were frustrated by Cuba in a match that ended as a goalless draw. This is the first time that the Jamaican national team has competed ever since Steve McClaren was appointed as the head coach. The match was held in the National Stadium.
The Jamaicans will be frustrated by this lukewarm performance especially because they played against 10 men in the second half. The two teams were competing in the Concacaf Nations League.
Raiko Arozarena was Cuba’s best player. The goalkeeper made many brilliant saves that kept the Jamaican attackers in check. This was impressive because most of these attackers play for the two top divisions in England. Arozarena plays in the USL Championships for a team known as Las Vegas Lights.
The Reggae Boyz managed to shoot 21 times with only seven shots landing on target. On the other hand, the Cubans couldn’t register any shot on target. Cuba managed to escape with a single point despite Jamaica being the dominant side.
Cuba was reduced to 10-men when Jamaica’s Michail Antonio was dragged down by Yunior Perez. This incident happened just before half-time.
The Reggae Boyz’s next game will be against Honduras on Tuesday. On the other hand, Cuba is expected to play Nicaragua in their next match. Jamaica is in Group B together with Cuba, Nicaragua, French Guiana, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago.
