Omari Hutchinson Chooses England Over Reggae Boyz

Omari Hutchinson has decided to commit his future to the England national team after turning down the Jamaican Reggae Boyz.
The 20-year-old attacker made two appearances for the Jamaican national team in March 2023. However, he had represented the Under-19 and Under-17 England teams when he was still developing as a youngster in the Arsenal youth setup.
Many teams have been battling for Hutchinson’s services ever since he had a brilliant season on loan at Ipswich Town. He helped the team secure promotion thanks to his 10 goals and six assists in the Championship.
The Jamaica Football Federation has been holding regular meetings with Hutchinson with the aim of tying him down. He was also approached by Steve McClaren; the new head coach of the Jamaican national team.
According to reports, the England officials have also invited Hutchinson in their Under-21. They are hoping that he can build momentum that will see him earn a call-up in the England national team.
Hutchinson enjoyed his time as a Reggae Boy player and that’s why it has taken him a whole year to make a decision on his future. It’s important to note that he received a lot of love from the Jamaican fans.
However, he has decided to play for England although he knows that he will be facing stiff competition from world-class players like Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka. He believes that he has a bigger chance of winning major trophies with England. He is an ambitious player who also hopes to secure a Champions League title before he retires.
Hutchinson is having a slow season in the English premier league because he suffered from a minor injury that kept him out for a couple of games. He completed a £20million ($26m) move from Chelsea to became Ipswich’s most expensive player.
