Reggae Boyz Win Two Consecutive Matches

They defeated Nicaragua after a previous victory over Honduras.

Steve McClaren has earned two consecutive victories as the new head coach of the Jamaican national team. They defeated Nicaragua after a previous victory over Honduras. The teams are playing in Group B of the Concacaf Nations League.
The 63-year-old Englishman is hoping to help Jamaica secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup. He was part of the Manchester United coaching staff before he took up the Reggae Boyz job. It’s important for the Reggae Boyz to qualify for this tournament because it will happen in the region. The tournament will happen in Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A.
The Reggae Boyz scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute. The officials deemed this goal as an own goal that was scored by Josué Quijano. in the 27th minute, Juan Barrera almost found an equalizing goal that would brought Nicaragua back into the game. However, Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake blocked the long-range shot from entering into his net.
The Jamaicans added another goal when Romario Williams struck in the 69th minute.
Blake ensured that the Reggae Boyz went home with all three points by making two saves in quick succession. The Jamaican goalkeeper finished the game with a total of six saves. This is the second time that he has secured a clean sheet in the current campaign of the Nations League.
The match was played in the Nicaragua National Football Stadium.
The Reggae Boyz squad is currently sitting on top of the group after securing seven points. Honduras are second with six points and while Nicaragua is currently third with four points. The standings also features Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago as well as French Guiana.
