Garth Gayle To Retain JAAA Presidency

Gayle and members of his executive team were nominated without facing any opposition

Garth Gayle is expected to maintain his position as the president of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association.

Gayle’s position will be confirmed during the association’s annual general meeting. The event will happen on November 23 at the Jamaica College’s Ashenheim Auditorium.
Gayle recently said that his biggest achievement was bringing back track and field tournaments following the COVID-19 pandemic. He was involved in organizing the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.

Gayle and members of his executive team were nominated without facing any opposition. However, it’s important to note that some members will be switching places.
The authorities practiced strict guidelines when the events were reintroduced in Jamaica. Fans were prevented from attending the major championships. Jamaican athletes also participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021.
Jamaica was the main beneficiary when Bermuda relinquished the 2022 Carifta Games due to COVID-19 rules. Jamaica ended up hosting the event.
Julette Parks will replace Vilma Charlton in the position of vice-president. However, Charlton will remain active as a committee member. On the other hand, Ewan Scott will serve as the director of bureau of records.
