This is expected to be a professional contract that will last for a long time
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Adidas is working on a long-term contract with Thieanna-Lee Terrleonge. According to sources, the German sportswear brand is locked in negotiations with the promising Jamaican teenage sprinter.
The 17-year-old youngster will be under the guidance of coach Shanikie Osbourne. He is expected to hold his training camps in Uptimum Performance Track Club; a newly formed facility. Earlier this year, he withdrew from Edwin Allen High.
Thieanna-Lee Terrleonge failed to participate in the World Athletics under 20 Championships due to injuries. The event took place in late August 2024, in Lima, Peru. The athlete finished second in the 2024 200m race at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships. She also won the Class 2 100m.
She placed fourth in Lima after securing an impressive time of 12.03 seconds. This result happened in the first round of the 100m race. She was forced to withdraw from any further sprinting after she picked up an injury.
She has previously finished in the second position of the 100m race in the Under 20 Girls. She was defeated by teammate Sabrina Dockery. She was one of the relay athletes who participated in the women’s Under 20 4x100m race. This team made Jamaica proud by winning the gold medal in this race.
Terrelonge won the NACAC Under 18 sprint double championships in 2023. In 2024, he participated in the JAAA National Junior Championships and recorded a personal best of 11.13 seconds.
Terrleonge’s representatives refused to give any comments on the Adidas deal.
