Grant told journalists that the team needs fresh energy and new ideas
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Leaford Grant is expected to quit from his role as the head coach of Kingston College when the current season comes to an end. He has coached KC for the past five years. He has enjoyed a lot of success during this period.
Grant helped them win the ISSA Boys Championship on four different occasions. This achievement means that he is one of the most successful coaches in school club football.
Grant told journalists that it was time to bring new ideas into the North Street-based institution.
“We need fresh energy and new ideas. That’s why I’m stepping down so that I can create space for a younger coach. It’s not easy to coach for more than 30 years,” White said.
“It takes a lot of hard work and energy for a coach to succeed at KC. This is a big team and that’s why the job comes with a lot of demands. We have to be competitive every year because the school demands excellence. Kingston College, it comes with a lot of energy and hard work to get a big team to where you want it to be competitive every year. I hope that the new coach will continue with the same culture.”
KC will be competing at next month’s boys championship. The team will be hoping to win the trophy for the 36th time. The National Stadium will host this event from March 25-29.
Grant said that he believes that he has built a foundation that is strong enough to stand the test of time. He has instilled a winning mentality that will maintain the team’s dominance and competitiveness.
