The 2012 Olympic Champion from Grenada, Kirani James, Won the Race in 44.78 Seconds
Christopher Taylor, a finalist for the Olympics, finished 3rd in the men’s 400-meter race in the Bislett Stadium during the Oslo Diamond League competition.
Danniel Thomas-Dodd, who won the silver medal at the World Championships in the shot throw, finished fourth. Natoya Goule-Toppin finished 6th in the women’s 800 m, while Omar McLeod did not compete in the 110 m hurdles.
The 2012 Olympic champion from Grenada, Kirani James, won the race in 44.78 seconds, with Botswana’s Isaac Makwala coming in second with 45.45 seconds. Taylor, who was competing in his 3rd race in Europe in the previous two weeks, finished in 45.52 seconds.
Prior to significant efforts in the later rounds, Thomas-first-round Dodd’s effort of 19.04m, which was good for fourth, had him in second for the majority of the tournament.
Chase Ealy of the United States won after throwing 19.66 meters in the third round. Jessica Schilder of the Netherlands came in second with a 19.46-meter throw, and Auriol Dongmo of Portugal came in third with a 19.43-meter throw.
Goule-Toppin finished in sixth place with a time of 1:59.31 seconds despite being in third place with less than 100 meters to go.
Olympic silver medalist Keely Hodgkinson of Great Britain won the race in 1:57.71 seconds, followed by her countrywoman Laura Muir in second place and France’s Renelle Lamote in third.
