Jamaican Team is Banking On the Fact That It Has Good International and Local Players
The Jamaican national under-20 team’s is expected to face off against hosts and Group H leaders, Honduras. Jamaica College Manning Cup coach Davion Ferguson revealed that he is expecting the Jamaican team to improve their score in this match which will be their second match in the Concacaf Under-20 championship. The match will go down at the Estadio Francisco Morazan in San Pedro Sula.
Ferguson stated that the young Boyz played their first international game as a team during the weekend. He pointed out that the team’s preparation was not good since they did not get a chance to play an international practice game. He is however hopeful that the team will build confidence and chemistry with more games.
Be that as it may, Honduras are more confident of winning due to their 3-0 victory in their opening match against Antigua and Barbuda. They are also two points ahead of Jamaica and Costa Rica who drew 1-1 in their opening match.
Ferguson further disclosed that the Jamaican team is banking on the fact that it has good international and local players.
For instance, Tyler Roberts, Luke Bradley-Morgan, goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke alongside substitutes Chad James and Jamari Clarke showcased good performances when they played against Costa Rica.
The top three teams from each group will secure a spot in the next round.
