Nugent is hoping to redeem herself after failing to win a medal this year’s Olympics games despite being a finalist. In 2024, she boasts of being the world’s second-fastest woman in 100m hurdles.
The fans are excited to see Nugent make an appearance in the Diamond League. She is expected to face an exceptional field in the meet. She will be racing against compatriot Danielle Williams and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn; an Olympic bronze medalist.
Nugent captured the spotlight with a personal best time of 12.28 seconds. This blistering performance happened during the JAAA/Puma National Junior Championships. She now has the ninth-fastest time in the history of the race.
The Jamaican will be remembered for reaching the final at the Olympics. Unfortunately, she hit the first hurdle and this stopped her from finish the race.
The sprint star said that she is excited to make her debut in the Diamond League.
“I have waited for an opportunity to showcase my skills in the Diamond League. I’m very excited to prove myself,” Nugent shares. “I am getting accustomed to the lifestyle of a full-time professional athlete. I am ready to settle into the Diamond League because I foresee a long future in this tournament.”
Nugent is also scheduled to compete in the Rome Golden Gala and the Silesia Diamond League. The events are expected to happen on Friday, August 30 and Sunday, August 25.
