The Olympic 100m champion promised that she will give the fans value for their money
Julien Alfred is expected to participate in BAUHAUS Galan and the Bislett Games in Oslo. This is according to the organizers of the Wanda Diamond League. These events will happen in 2025.
The St Lucian wrote her name in the history books when she secured the gold medal in the Women’s 100m race at the Paris Olympics. She also went home with an Olympic silver medal in the 200 meters race.
The 23-year-old Alfred also competed at the final in Brussels where she swept the 100m series.
She will spend 2025 defending her Diamond Trophy. She will get two early opportunities in Oslo and Stockholm. She will use these events to accumulate as many points as possible ahead of this year’s final in Zurich.
Alfred will fly to the Swedish capital to participate at BAUHAUS Galan. This event is expected to happen on June 12. On June 15, she will compete in the Bislett Games that will be held in Norway. She will travel across the two neighboring countries using a train. She will be travelling together with other athletes.
“I have always wanted to visit a Scandinavian country. I have been told that Scandinavian spectators are very hospitable. I am working on delivering a memorable performance. I promise that I will give the fans value for their money,” Alfred said.
She said that she is excited by the idea of competing against the best athletes in the world. She revealed that she is hoping to clinch her first outdoor World Athletics Championships title. This event will happen at the end of the year in Tokyo, Japan.
“I won’t participate in any World Championship trials and that’s why I need to perform well in the upcoming Diamond League season. I believe that these races will prepare me for Japan,” Alfred said.
