Aston Villa secured a comfortable victory over West Ham at Villa Park. Jamaican international Leon Bailey was one of the goal scorers when Aston Villa defeated West Ham in the English premier league.
This comfortable win means that Unai Emery’s side is now four points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspurs.
The two teams were evenly matched in the early moments of the game. However, Villa went ahead when Nicolo Zaniolo created a goal-scoring opportunity. Zaniolo passed the ball to Ollie Watkins who then passed it to Douglas Luiz. Luiz produced a screamer that left the Hammers goalkeeper with no chance. This goal happened in the 30th minute.
Villa’s second goal came in the 50th minute when Edson Alvarez conceded a penalty in the West Ha box. Douglas Luiz stepped up and scored from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute.
Jarrod Bowen responded with a deflected goal that brought West Ham back into the game in the 56th minute.
English striker Ollie Watkins then produced a moment of ”individual brilliance” to score Villa’s third goal. He ran with the ball from the midfield before dribbling past the Hammers defence. He proceeded to produce a left-foot shot that confused the West Ham goal keeper. This goal came in the 74th minute.
Leon Bailey came in for Nicolo Zanilo in the 76th minute. He didn’t take long to have an impact on the game. Bailey collected the ball from another second half substitute Youri Tielemans. He dribbled past defender Nayef Aguerd before producing a left-footed shot that went into the top of the net.
