The Jamaicans started created more opportunities in the second half and they earned a freekick in the 47th minute. Amari’i Bell scored for Jamaica in the 51st minute. The left-back produced a lovely strike that left the Guatemala goal-keeper stranded.
Guatemala tried to fight back but the rest of the game was largely uneventful.
Jamaica has enjoyed a Cinderella run in the tournament. This was evident when the Boyz almost produced an upset against favorites USA. The Jamaicans haven’t tasted defeat on North American soil. They’ve scored ten goals in the tournament.
Coach Heimir Hallgrímsson said that he was glad that his team is improving. He believes that the Boyz are attacking and defending better as a team.
