Concacaf Congress To Host FIFA President

The event will be held in St Lucia this weekend

Gianni Infantino; the current FIFA president, is expected to be part of the high-profile guests who will attend the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Congress. This event will be held in St Lucia this weekend.

There will be at least 250 delegates, with most of them being regional and global football officials. Concacaf is the regional governing body and this will be the 40th anniversary of the event. The event will also serve as the institution’s annual general meeting.

“This is a major accomplishment for the country. It’s an honor to host high-profile officials in our country. We would like to welcome the FIFA president,” said Kenson Casimir; the St Lucian minister of Youth Development and Sports.

“This event is evidence that St Lucia has positioned itself in a strong social and economic position. It’s not a small fete for an island as small as ours.”

“It means that we have the infrastructure and dynamics required to host a world-class event,” Casimir added.

“To host an event like this, you must have conference space, the hotels and the proper logistics. St Lucia has officially announced itself as a destitution for sports development and hosting international events.  We are putting the world on notice and we’re ready for business.”

The St Lucia Football Association (SLFA) has organised this congress with the help of local agencies.

St Lucian has shown a lot of commitment when it comes to football development. For instance, the nation recently launched the Semi-Professional Football League.

This year’s event will allow Concacaf officials to discuss with football administrators on how to advance the SPFL, especially when it comes to logistics.
