Distin finished as the third overall jumper in the competition
Lamara Distin has qualified for the final of the women’s high jump. She achieved this fete after clearing 1.92 metres in group A. She was competing in the World Athletics Championships.
Unfortunately, the Jamaicans didn’t enjoy total domination, with Kimberly Williamson only securing a 15th place finish from group B. This also meant that she finished 28th overall. This was despite delivering a season’s best clearance of 1.85.
Distin finished as the third overall jumper in the competition. She was only ranked behind Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine and Eleanor Patterson of Australia. Her two competitors cleared 1.92 metres as well.
Nobody cleared the automatic qualification mark of 1.94-metre. The competition is taking place in Budapest, Hungary.
