Najhada Seymoure; who represents Excelsior High, is hoping to remain as the champion of the Girls’ Class One discus throw. She secured the qualifying mark (46.00m) after making two attempts. She had the sixth-best overall throw of 46.62m. She came in with a best of 51.77m, making her the leading thrower in 2025.
Shamoyea Morris of Edwin Allen High threw 50.31 to finish as the leader in the qualifying stage. She came in as the 2024 silver medalist. Gianna Clayton of Excelsior High came second with a throw of 48.88m. They both needed only one attempt.
Able Mills; who represents St Catherine High, made one throw to secure a qualification throw of 48.46m. She came with 51.68m, the second-best throw of 2025. Shantangelo Williams of Hydel High also qualified with a throw of 48.37m.
Jaeda Robinson of Immaculate Conception High finished as the leader of the Girls’ Class Two long jump with a jump of 5.84m. This performance secured her a place in the final. This was her only attempt
This event will feature some high-level competition because of the inclusion of medalists from both Class Three and Class Two last year.
In 2024, Robinson taken the second position in Class Two. On the other hand, Rihanna Chambers of St Catherine High had finished fourth in 2024. Rihanna jumped 5.54m on Tuesday.
Zoelle Jamel; who represents Immaculate Conception High, was the leader in the Javelin Open competition. She qualified with a season’s best 40.08m. She is expected to win the title in the final.
Jamel is expected to face stiff competition from Hydel High’s Natassia Burrell, who is last year’s bronze medalist. She threw 39.76 to reach the automatic qualifying mark of 36.00m.
Burrell has the leading season’s best so far (43.26m). She came as the winner at the Carifta Trials.
