Reclaiming the title is a top priority for Harbour View players and their administration
Harbour View is hoping to regain their title when the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) returns. The local league is set to return tomorrow. Harbour View are aiming to maintain their strong form when facing 11th-placed Tivoli gardens.
The JPL had taken a break to give room for the just-concluded Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. According to Harbour View’s head coach, Ludlow Benard, it is quite crucial that his team proceeds from where they left off while maintaining their focus.
Last season, Harbour View won their fifth JPL title after penalties gave them a 6-5 victory over Dunbeholden. Despite the fact that it is quite hard to claim the title again this season, it is still a top priority for both the players and their administration.
In addition, coach Benard praised his players’ attitude during the World Cup break as he disclosed how the training exercises had full participation of players showcasing readiness and competitiveness.
The ‘Stars of the East’ are currently topping the league standings. They are among the three competitive teams left, with the others being Portmore United and Mount Pleasant. Harbour View boasts of topping the scoreboard with 14 goals in five matches this season. Benard credits last season’s victory for the abundant goals scored so far. The players have managed to maintain their momentum from last season’s title win. They will be hoping to avoid injuries in order to maintain their high-level performances.
