Green of Mount Pleasant Tops Goal-Scoring Chart With 12 Goals

Green Managed to Surpass Previous Top Scorer Atapharoy Bygrave

The match between Mount Pleasant and Tivoli Gardens in the Jamaica Premier League went down on May 22nd where the former beat the latter 4-1. Mount Pleasant’s Daniel Green netted two goals and rose to the top of the goal-scoring chart with 12 goals.

Green managed to surpass previous top scorer Atapharoy Bygrave of Dunbeholden who has stayed at the top spot for most of the season with 11 goals. Trivante Stewart also secured two goals in the game.

This victory increased the St Ann-based club’s points to 35. Arnett Gardens have 36 points which is five points adrift of leaders Dunbeholden and Waterhouse.

Green had his team taking the lead barely 16 minutes into the game. This was followed by a goal by Warner Brown of Tivoli Gardens marking his 5th goal this season.

All the same, in the 62nd minute, Green netted another goal thus putting his team on the lead once more before Stewart scored two more goals in the 76th and 86th minutes.

In the meantime, Levaughn Williams’ added time penalty made the difference in the Clarendon Derby at Effortville. Humble Lion’s victory saw it rise to 21 points. Harbour View were ranked 7th with 24 points while Vere were ranked 10th with 16 points.

The match between Portmore and Montego United is scheduled for 23rd May at 5pm. Furthermore, Molynes will meet Arnett Gardens at 7:30 pm on the same day.

Both these games will be held at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Arnett Gardens.
