Reggae Boyz head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson has chosen an experienced 23-man squad as he prepares his team to face Mexico.
The team is made up of notable returns as well as seven players who impressed Hallgrimsson in the recent friendlies against Soca Boys. Some of the players who impressed against Trinidad and Tobago include Mount Pleasant’s Trivante Stewart, Dunbeholden’s Demario Phillips and Wolves Dexter Lembiksia.
Barnsley’s Jonathan Russell is hoping to get his debut. On other hand, Minnesota United’s Kemar Lawrence and Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock are making their comebacks after notable absences.
The Reggae Boyz are hoping to progress into the semi-finals of the Concacaf Nations League. This means that they might have to win against Mexico. The two teams will face off in Mexico City on Sunday.
Mexico is scheduled to take on Suriname this Thursday before moving on to Jamaica. Jamaica sits on top the group with five points. The second spot belongs to Mexico with four points.
