Most of the Jamaican athletes will head to the Olympic Village on 24th July, 2024
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has expressed satisfaction with how their athletes have been treated by the Olympic organizers. Garth Gayle, the JAAA president, said that he is impressed by world-class facilities. He thanked the Mayor of Stuttgart for providing them with these facilities.
The Jamaican team decided to train in Germany although the Olympic Games will happen in Paris, France. Gayle was speaking on behalf of the athletes, coaches and management team in attendance. The training camp is expected to last until July 24.
Gayle said that he knew they had found a perfect location to hold their training camp in December. He revealed that he toured the facility together with Treasurer Ludlow Watts. He also revealed that they were determined to create a successful training environment despite facing many logistical challenges.
Gayle praised their Stuttgart hosts for their friendship, food and hospitality. He said that their organization would like to return to Stuttgart when their athletes compete in future international tournaments.
“As Jamaicans, we have an infectious culture that we like sharing with our friends. We hope to leave a positive impression so that you can host us again,” said Gayle.
Gayle emphasized that they would like to work with their Germany hosts because they technological experts. He said that he would love a partnerships between their hosts and the GC Foster College of Sports. This would help the Caribbean athletes who want to use technology to improve their performances.
Majority of the Jamaicans haven’t arrived at the training camp. Most of the Jamaican athletes will head to the Olympic Village on 24th July, 2024.
