Jamaica Lacrosse Invites Prospects For Trials

The clinic will be divided into sections: a senior women’s category and an under-17 category for people who are infants in the sport

Jamaica Lacrosse has invited all potential prospects for trials. This Lacrosse Clinic is meant for female athletes who believe that they can pursue a career in the sport.
This initiative comes at a time when Jamaica is preparing for the Qualifiers of the 2025 Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) tournament. Jamaica Lacrosse has invited women from all walks of life. The camp is expected to begin January 4.


The clinic will be divided into sections: a senior women’s category and an under-17 category for people who are infants in the sport.
Corina Mahorn; ex women’s lacrosse captain, is expected to be the main person spearheading the clinic.
“We’re encouraging players to show up for the trial. You don’t have to be an expert. We will teach you the basic skills of the sport. Some of these basics include: catching and passing – as well as the art of offence and defence,” said Mahorn.
“We believe that we will identify players with athleticism and other skills required to play for Jamaica Lacrosse during international tournaments.”
She said that Lacrosse coaches will have wide a pool of players to choose from.
Chris Kryjewski and Megan Sullivan were recently appointed as the co-head coaches of the senior women’s team.

The clinic will be supplemented with tryouts that are set begin on January 11 and 12. This crop of international and local-based players will be showcase their talent in the United States.
“The final roster will be composed of approximately 20 girls. This list will have been reduced from an original list of 50 girls. these 20 girls will represent Jamaica in the PALA Qualifiers.” Mahorn insisted that their aim is to leave big mark on the world stage.
Teams can qualify for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championships through the PALA Qualifiers.
