Jamaica Women’s 4x100m Team Set To Compete In Final

The Jamaican coaching staff was forced to rely on two teenagers because the absence of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson

Jamaica will be participating in the Women’s 4x100m after their team qualified for the final in this race.
This was an impressive achievement because the team was made up of relatively inexperienced athletes. The team included Tia Clayton, Shashalee Forbes, Kemba Nelson and Alana Reid. The Jamaicans recorded a time of 42.35 seconds to secure a third-place finish in the heat.
They will be hoping to leave the Paris Olympics with medals on their necks.
The Jamaican coaching staff was forced to rely on two teenagers because the absence of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson. The two superstars pulled out from the team because of persistent injuries.
Reid was used as a starter while 100m finalist Clayton was an anchor. This is the first time that the teenagers have participated in the prestigious tournament.
Jamaica now has an automatic qualifying spot behind France- 42.13 seconds and Great Britain- 42.03 seconds.
