Jamaican Gold Medalist Thinking About Shifting To American Football Career

Stona revealed that he is waiting for his agents to advice him on the feasibility of becoming a professional NFL player

Roje Stona; who won a gold medal in the last Olympic games, has disclosed that he is tempted by the idea of playing in U.S.A’s National Football League(NFL).

The 25-year-old made history by being the first Jamaican discus champion at the Olympics. He broke the record by throwing a distance of 70m in the discus contest.
Although he doesn’t have any experience in American football, he believes that he has all the attributes required to succeed in the sport.

He participated in NFL rookie training camps before competing in the Paris Olympic Games. These trials happened with New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers.
The ex St Jago High School student has also studied in the University of Arkansas.
Roje Stona revealed that he got the inspiration to win a gold medal from sprinting legend Usain Bolt. He tried his hand in athletics and soccer before he found his purpose in discus.
Ryan Crouser mentored him during his time at the University of Arkansas. Crouser is a three-time Olympic shot put champion.

Stona revealed that he is waiting for his agents to advice him on the feasibility of becoming a professional NFL player. However, he is still in the exploratory stage of this new frontier. He is currently working on rest and recovery because the NFL season has already began.
He revealed that he puts 100 percent commitment into everything he attempts. He will continue with the same mentality if he ever gets a chance to play in the lucrative NFL league.
