Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard is set to miss several key games after she suffered from an injury. The goal shooter is expected to miss the match against England which will be in the Horizon Series. This tournament is expected to happen next week.
According to Netball Jamaica, she will miss contests in Manchester, England and Kingston, Jamaica. These games will happen on November 16 and 17 as well as November 25 and 26.
According to reports, she decided to step down from the event after she received advice from her doctor. The Sunshine Girls captain was expected to welcome new players into the tea+m. The team was hoping to that would deliver in the goal circle.
Tricia Robinson; the Netball Jamaica president, said that she will be replaced by Romelda Aiken-George. She said that they will focus on helping Fowler-Nembhard to regain her health. She promised to provide updates on her condition.
Sasher-Gaye Henry; the Head coach of the Sunshine Girls, said that she is saddened by the thought of losing an important player.
“We didn’t expect this injury and that’s why we are deeply disappointed. However, we have to remain in in high spirits if we’re going to perform against our opponents,” Henry said.
“We believe that our squad has enough quality to deliver good performances despite missing our captain. We are serious about this series,” Henry said.
Netball Jamaica thanked the fans for maintaining their support through good and bad times. Netball enthusiasts are expecting a competitive series.
