His New Team Will Participate in the Upcoming UEFA Champions League Qualification Rounds
Jamaican Premier League striker Renaldo Cephas is expected to sign for a North Macedonia club champions KF Shkupi. He recently flew to Europe to attend a medical checkup. He is expected to formalize a transfer from Arnett Gardens FC.
The player’s agent Kevin Cowan and Arnett Gardens revealed that the 22-year-old player will have to pass the medical in order to receive a three-year deal. Kevin Cowan revealed that the deal is expected to be finished in the next few days.
This is a big opportunity for Cephas because they are the current league champions of North Macedonian league. The team will participate in the UEFA Champions League qualification rounds in the upcoming season.
Arnett Gardens Club President Mark Golding welcomed the move. Cowan said European football offers the chance for Cephas to develop into a complete player.
Cephas is known for his electric pace and a knack for scoring goals. He was a standout for Charlie Smith High in schoolboy football and has made the transition to Jamaica’s top-tier club league. He is Arnett’s top scorer this season with 10 goals.
This move now proves that Jamaican clubs should continue develop younger players and expose them so they can benefit from similar opportunities. Arnett Gardens hopes that they will continue attracting more young players.
