According to sources, Charlton Athletic has applied for a work permit on behalf of Dixon
Charlton Athletic is working on completing medical examinations for Jamaican attacker Kaheim Dixon. The English club is expected to announce him as their new player if he passes this test.
Dixon spent the last season in the Jamaica premier league. He helped Arnett Gardens clinch the 5th position in the league. The 19-year-old finished with 6 goals in the JPL.
The League One club is also working on securing a work permit for the Reggae Boy youngster. According to sources, Dixon arrived in England in the beginning of this week.
Peter Thelwell; the General Manager of Arnett Gardens, said that he expects Dixon to pass his medical tests. He doesn’t foresee any obstacles because Dixon is a ”young and energetic” player. He revealed that for the youngster had been put through some rigorous medical tests when he joined Arnett Gardens. He insisted that their assessments didn’t reveal any medical problems.
According to sources, Charlton Athletic has applied for a work permit on behalf of Dixon. However, the club officials aren’t sure how long it will take for the process to be completed. Charlton believes that Dixon’s appearances at the Copa America tournament will boost his chances of receiving the work permit. The officials are hoping that there will be no issues during this process.
Thelwell insisted that he believes that Charlton pursued him because they believed that they could secure his transfer. He believes that the UK government will allow Dixon to work in their country.
The Arnett Gardens general manager revealed that Dixon was in fine spirits when he left the island. The youngster is excited about the next chapter in his career. He added that he is happy with the exposure that Arnett Gardens is receiving from this transfer. The club is hoping to build a business relationships with European clubs.
