KFC sees ISSA schoolboy football as a platform that they can use to give back to the community
KFC has announced a sponsorship package that will boost the 2024 program. The investment will amount to $15-million.
The quick-service food giant has shown commitment towards the growth of Jamaican soccer players. The company believes that sports can be used to shape the character of youngsters. This year’s partnership will last for the entire season. The season will begin on Saturday, September 7.
This competition has provided many talented youngsters in recent years. Some of the prominent names include Dujuan Richards and Kaheim Dixon. The two youngsters have signed for Chelsea FC and Charlton Athletic respectively. Their success is a testament that ISSA schoolboy football exposes youngsters to European teams.
The company intends to provide support — both on and off the field.
This has been demonstrated by a donation to Alinton Frankson, an ex standout player who played for Excelsior High and Paul Bogle High. KFC has donated $500,000 to clear his medical bill. The doctors discovered that he was suffering from lymphoedema while they were treating him for an injury he had gotten while playing football.
Frankson was thankful that KFC has remembered him in his hour of need.
According to Andrei Roper, the company’s Marketing Manager, they are thrilled by the idea of helping young people achieve their dreams. They want them to be upstanding citizens even if their don’t pursue a career in professional football. KFC sees ISSA schoolboy football as a platform that they can use to give back to the community.
