Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw Suffers From Racism

Football fans should expect some prosecutions because authorities are investigating the case

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw recently suffered from a case of racism. The Jamaican striker was abused through social media platforms. This ‘disgusting treatment’ came after Manchester City played against Arsenal.

Manchester City released a statement in which they said that they were disgusted by the mistreatment of their star player. “We will not tolerate discrimination of any kind. This behavior is disgusting, whether it is done online or in stadiums. We urge all football authorities to continue fighting against racism,” said the statement.

The club said Shaw would not comment on the issue publicly. She is a big superstar and she doesn’t want to give any publicity to the vile individuals.

However, football fans should expect some prosecutions because authorities are investigating the case.

The 28-year-old star will receive any sort of help that she might require from Manchester City and officials from the Women’s Super League (WSL).

According to a statement that was released by FIFA in 2023, one in five footballers were victims of “targeted racism” in that year’s Women’s World Cup. FIFA is an institution that governs football on the world stage.

Approximately half of “detected and verified” negative messages were sexist, sexual, homophobic and threatening. This information was collected by FIFA’s Social Media Protection Service.
