Jamaica’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has established herself as the most prolific striker in the Women’s Super League after scoring her 18th goal this season. She scored her goal in a game that Manchester City in a 4-1 come-back win over Reading.
The first goal of the game came when Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen struck with a long-range goal in the 1st minute. She latched on a loose ball outside the Man City box, she proceeded to whip a left-footed shot beyond goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck.
Manchester City’s Chloe Kelly leveled the score with a 15th minute goal. Her opportunity came after she took advantage of the confusion in Reading’s box. It was a proper poacher’s goal. The assist for this goal was awarded to Shaw.
Manchester City maintained their momentum and they forced Reading into conceding a corner kick in the 23rd minute. Bunny Shaw used her towering height to outjump everyone in the Reading box before heading the ball into the net. The corner kick was taken by Alex Greenwood.
The two teams went into the break with Manchester City leading with two goals.
The second half wasn’t different from the first one and it didn’t take long before City found another goal. Lauren Hemp finished off another unmissable ball from Chloe Kelly in the 47th minute.
Steph Houghton closed the scoring with another goal in the 70th minute.
