Ackeem Blake finished third to ensure Jamaica went home with a medal
Kishane Thompson failed to represent Jamaica in the Wanda Diamond League. Sprinting enthusiasts were excited to see how the Jamaican would perform after the 100m Olympic final. He finished second, just a few seconds behind USA’s Noah Lyles.
In his absence, the first position was clinched by Fred Kerley who is also the 2024 Olympic bronze medalist. He won this race with a time of 9.87 seconds. The second position was taken by Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala. The Kenyan impressed with a time of 9.99. The competition is happening in Silesia, Poland
The third position was taken by fellow Jamaican Ackeem Blake. Blake was one of the semi-finalists in the recently concluded Paris Olympics. On the other hand, Rohan Powell recorded a time of 10.18 seconds to finish seventh. Powell is conditioned at the University of Technology just like Kishane Thompson.
Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs took the fourth position with a time of in 9.93 seconds. Track and field enthusiasts will remember Jacobs for winning in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games.
