Antonio will be hoping to contribute with goals so that his team can finish in European positions
Jamaican international Michail Antonio is expected to return from injury in the coming weeks. The Reggae boy striker has been nursing a knee injury since November, 2023. He picked up the injury during his last outing with Jamaica.
The striker was expected to return to WestHam’s first team in early January but he suffered a setback. According to reliable sources, he slipped during a training session and therefore he exacerbated the injury.
He told WestHam fans that he is pushing for a return that will see him feature in the busy February schedule. Some sources have claimed that he might be ready for the Hammers next game on February 4 vs Manchester United.
David Moyes, the West Ham manager, said that the Jamaican striker is back training on the grass. This is a good sign but Antonio will have to participate in numerous training sessions before he can reappear in the English premier league. Moyes didn’t disclose when fans should expect the striker to return. The worst case scenario is that he might return in the end of the month.
Jamaican fans will be happy to hear that Antonio is back fit and training with his teammates. The Reggae Boyz will need him to remain fit for the rest of the season because he is their most experienced attacker. The Boyz next match will be a semifinal against USA in the Concacaf Nations League.
Antonio’s WestHam is having a good season in the English premier league. The team is currently sitting in the sixth position after collecting 36 points. Antonio will be hoping to contribute with goals so that his team can finish in European positions. He has recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the current EPL season.
