Munn-Barrow Maintains Her Position As Jamaica Golf President

Dr Mark Newnham will serve as her Vice-President

The Jamaica Golf Association has retained Jodi Munn-Barrow as the president of their organization. She retained her position because there were no other contenders for her job. She will now serve her second-consecutive term as the first woman to lead the JGA.
The members of the association conducted an election that was hosted in St Andrew’s Constant Golf Club.
Munn-Barrow said that she is pleased to retain her position as the president of the organization. She said that she excited to collaborate with the newly-elected members of the executive committee.
“First, we will focus on the Caribbean Amateur Junior Championships. We will need to be prepared to host this event in July. We will then switch our focus on our Jamaica Open,” said an excited Munn-Barrow.
Munn-Barrow rose to the top of the organization after she was nominated by Peter Chin, the immediate former President of the JGA. Mr Chin is a golf lover who is serving as the current chairperson of the Jamaica Open Golf Championship committee.
Robert Chin also nominated Dr Mark Newnham for the position of Vice-President. Dr Newnham will be serving a second term after he was elected unopposed.
The JGA committee will be made up of members like Rowena Coe (ladies’ representative)and Fred Sutherland (honorary secretary). The position of treasurer and junior golf chairperson will be taken by William Brown and Alison Reid respectively. The committee members include Dave Cameron, Teddy Alexander, Robert Chin, Vikram Dhiman and Dave Lyn.
Alexander and Cameron, the ex president of Cricket West Indies, will be on the executive branch of JGA for the first time.
