FloTrack; a renowned American website, honored the 23-year-old with the award of Breakthrough Performer of the Year
Julien Alfred is still being honored for the phenomenal achievements that she secured in 2024. The St Lucian native has began the year with two more prestigious awards.
She is still celebrating a phenomenal season in which she won the gold medal in the 100m Olympic Games. She also won the silver medal in this prestigious event. Additionally, she also won the Diamond League 100m title and the World Indoors 60m title. Saint Lucia has never had another athlete with this type of groundbreaking accomplishments.
She remains in the spot ahead of the upcoming season of track and field.
FloTrack; a renowned American website, honored the 23-year-old with the award of Breakthrough Performer of the Year. The FloTrack team and fan votes are used to determine who will win the award.
World record holders Mondo Duplantis and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone was also recognized as the male and female Professional Athletes of the Year respectively. The website said that they have always had an interest in Alfred’s career. They have followed her she was a student-athlete. She won many national titles in the University of Texas.
The sprinter has also been recognized in the region. Everybody’s, a prominent Caribbean-American magazine, has honored her with the award of the Persons of the Year. The publication recognized her together with six other Eastern Caribbean athletes. Thea LaFond-Gadson of Dominica was honored because she won an Olympic gold medal.
Alfred will add this award to the long list she won in 2024. Some of them include those from Athletics Weekly, the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees, and the Association of National Olympic Committees.
