They Have Won Previous Games Without Their Star Player Renaldo Cephas
According to various sources, Arnett Gardens winger, Renaldo Cephas, recent transfer to Macedonian champions FC Shkupi will negatively impact Arnett Gardens’ chances of winning the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) this season.
All the same, assistant coach Eric Rademakers said that the team has proved their worth during this season as they strive to dealing with their adversities. He said that he expects his players to sustain a respectable performance.
He was referring to when the team beat Portmore and Harbour View despite several players receiving red cards. Cephas was also absent when they thrashed regular champions Waterhouse 4-2. This is enough evidence that the team can cope with difficult situations.
The team also lost Chevaney Willis who previously was a Portmore and national midfielder. He was the team’s vice captain and he played approximately four to five matches before joining the United Soccer League.
Furthermore, the team still defeated Tivoli 3-1 despite their shortage of players. Rademakers however admitted that it would be quite difficult to find a replacement for Cephas as he has unique qualities.
Be that as it may, he said that he was happy for the player and hopes that his new environment will help him rise to his full potential.
