The Reggae Boyz who took part in the opening game of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, Road to Qatar 2022 are back home and recovering from a disappointed lost in the Azteca Stadium, Mexico. The Reggae Boyz held a draw until the 89th minute against the Mexicans, when the ball popped to Henry Marin who fired Mexico into a 2-1 victory. Mean while the English based players were left on the Island due to COVID regulations and protocols that needed to be met. Michail Antonio, Ravel Morrison, Bobby Decordova-Reid, Ethan Pinnock, Liam Moore, Wesley Harding, Daniel Johnson, and Kemar Roofe were all training intensely with Assistant Coach Paul Hall. They seem to be gelling well and Antonio in a brief interview with Military Gooners TV can be seeing looking confident and promise to make it right.
So, what to expect against Panama? Theodore “Tappa” Whitmore will have a big decision to make on his starting lineup. How many plays that played against Mexico is going to be in the starting lineup against Panama?, which players are going to be rested by the coach?, and do all the players that were left in Jamaica makes the pitch on Sunday in the 2nd of 14 games in the World Cup Qualifiers, Road to Qatar? These are questions that will be answered on Sunday September 5th 2021 inside the National Stadium, Kingston Jamaica.
After the showing in Mexico and with the players at the coaches disposal, the Reggae Boyz should and are capable to come away with an impressive victory. An impressive victory against the Panamanians could kick start our campaign and gain us our first 3 points of the tournament as we are rooted at the bottom of the table after the first game of the qualifiers. We could very well see the Reggae Boyz opening up the scoring flood gates against Panama, and that would be more than welcoming to the Jamaicans.
