Reggae Girl Allyson Swaby Joins Crystal Palace

This a permanent deal that will tie her to the London club until 2027. She revealed that she was excited by the idea of playing for the WSL club

Defender Allyson Swaby is the latest Reggae Girlz player to join the Women’s Super League. She has secured a deal that will see her play for Crystal Palace for the next two years.

She is making the switch from Italian giants AC Milan. However, she can only play in the English league when she receives an international clearance.

This a permanent deal that will tie her to the London club until 2027.

Crystal Palace announced that they had signed the defender earlier this week. However, the club refused to disclose how much they paid for the Jamaican international.

Swaby revealed that she was excited by the idea of playing for the WSL club.

“I’m super excited about the idea of wearing the Crystal Palace colors. I can’t wait to step on to the pitch. I want to jump straight into work,” she said.

Swaby began her professional career in 2018 when Knattspyrnufélag Fjarðabyggðar (KFF) – an Icelandic outfit. Crystal Palace will be the Jamaican’s sixth professional club.

She was signed by of Italian giants AS Roma after only 12 appearances for KFF. This transfer was completed in 2018. The stalwart defender built a reputation for being one of the best defenders in the league.

She won the Coppa Italia during the three seasons that she spent in Roma. Her next team was in the United States. She spent a whole year playing for Angel’s City. This move was followed by a six-month loan deal with French giants Paris-Saint Germain.

She spent three seasons with Roma, winning her first title, the Coppa Italia, before moving to Angel’s City FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States. It was at this point that she attracted the attention of AC Milan. She has now completed her move from Italy to England.
