Rupert Hunter has been announced as the new chief commercial officer of Cricket West Indies.
This new office will require him to operate the Coolidge Cricket Ground; CWI’s headquarters that is based in Antigua. He will begin working in October. He previously worked for the International Cricket Council as their head of brand partnerships.
CWI says that Hunter is an ideal candidate because he has worked in the sports industry for 24 years. This knowledge and experience has made him an expert in various sport and entertainment agencies. Hunter has served in prominent roles in organizations like IMG Media, Havas Sports, World Sport Group and Bates Worldwide Advertising.
He has also worked with Six Nations Rugby and other global federation rights holders.
According to CWI, Hunter will play a major role when it comes to drive commercial success and attracting investors for WI. In the last few years, he has led many global partnerships and sponsorships and partnerships in the sport of cricket.
Debra Coryat-Patton said that she is excited about the appointment of Hunter. She believes that this is step in the right direction because Hunter has a track-record of being successful in sports organizations. Her opinion holds weight because she is the chair and independent director of the Human Capital & Recruitment Committee.
