Sabrina Lyn Excited To Represent Jamaica Swimming Team In First Olympic Appearance

Sabrina is a 20-year-old swimmer who studies in the Louisiana State University

Sabrina Lyn is excited to be selected in the Jamaican team that will be competing in the Paris Olympics. The tournament will begin later this month.
“I was really excited when I got the call that I have made the Olympics,” said Lyn, who will be making her first appearance at the Games. “It’s an honor to represent my country for my first ever Olympic games. I can’t explain the joy that I felt when they called me to invite me into the national team,” said Sabrina.
Sabrina is a 20-year-old student who studies in the Louisiana State University. The aquatics team will also include diver Yona Knight-Wisdom and UK-based swimmer Josh Kirlew. This will also be Kirlew’s first Olympic appearance.
On August 3, Lyn will kick off her tournament by competing in the 50-metre freestyle. This women’s event is expected to happen at the Paris La Défense Arena. Kirlew and Lyn earned their way into the team through universality places; an athlete doesn’t have to qualify to secure this National Olympic Committee spots. NOCs are encouraged to submit one female and one male athlete in event each.
Lyn earned her spot after registering a personal best time of 25.82 seconds; she was competing in The Bahamas during the Carifta Championships. This is the fastest time to be recorded in this nation since 2017. It was a big improvement on her original best of 26.64 seconds. Arianna Vanderpool -Wallace is the region’s fastest woman of all time. She won the national title with a time 25.80 to enter the Bahamian team.
Vanderpool-Wallace is the benchmark of the Carifta region thanks to a national record of 24.31 seconds. This time was secured during the 2015 Pan American Games. She set a time of 24.38 seconds in the final.
