Test cricket or test cricket is the longest form of cricket. Players and fans call this the ultimate test of cricket skills compared to international competitions. Test cricket matches are only played between national representatives, as determined by the International Cricket Council.
A test match can last five days, each consisting of three two-hour sessions, 40 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes for tea. A test match is played between two teams consisting of eleven players. This sport is played with innings, there are usually four innings in a Test match.
Each team typically pitches and bats twice, and teams will usually alternate after each inning. A test match ends if all four innings are completed, time runs out without a result being reached and/or the match is lost.
