These qualifiers are currently acting as Jamaica’s preparations for next year’s Netball World Cup
Jamaica’s national netball team, the Sunshine Girls, thrashed the United States 70-16 in their last match. The game was held at the National Indoor Sports Centre. This was the Sunshine Girls’ second match at the ongoing Americas Netball Regional qualifiers.
Amanda Pickney, with a shooting accuracy of 92 per cent, opened the scoreboard for the Sunshine Girls, scoring 22 goals from 24 trials. Gazelle Allison, goal attack, also performed outstandingly scoring 23 goals from 20 attempts. In addition, captain Jhaniele Fowler also scored 13 goals from 15 attempts despite only playing in the first quarter. Kelsey Jones also contributed to the score with 12 goals from 17 attempts.
Goal attack Aniyan Langaigne, 17, and Goal shooter Oshina Graham each scored 6 goals for the USA.
These qualifiers are currently acting as Jamaica’s preparations for next year’s Netball World Cup. They are pleased to win their second game with a wide range.
Jamaica will next face the Cayman Islands in their Tuesday game.
