JFF Has Approved His Resignation
Vin Blaine recently presented his tender to resign as national women’s football coach to the JFF (Jamaica Football Federation). 20 members of the Reggae Girlz team recently presented a letter to the JFF president Michael Rickets calling for the substitution of the coach.
They complained that Blaine had trouble with communication, coaching and organization.
The JFF board had last week revealed that it had carried out investigations on the matter but had failed to gather enough evidence to warrant Blaine’s dismissal. The board went along with the recommendation by the technical committee to retain the coach in his position.
Blaine helped the Girlz achieve four wins in Group C of the Concacaf world cup qualifiers while coaching the team. The Girlz scored 24 goals in the tournament. The JFF approved his resignation and wished him the best in what he does next.
They also appreciated and sincerely thanked him for the work he did with the Senior Women’s National Team. However, they expressed that they did not want Blaine’s relationship with the Federation to end as suddenly as it did.
The Reggae Girlz are set to play in the Concacaf Women’s Championship from July 4th to July 18th. The tournament will be held in Mexico.
